Angela Mejias is self taught.
Born in 1958 in Valdelacalzada (Extremadura), grew up in France, first living in the Gers and later in Hendaye, a border town that has since been its home port.
Fascinated early on in photography in 1988 when it really turned professional as a photographer, date of his departure for Algeria. They work in the Research Project Development and Iherrir (Tassili Najjar) by request of the UNESCO and then to the Forest Research Institute (INRF) studying the fauna and flora and in turn Djurdjura Unit Arid Zone Research (Urza).
Angela will soon reporter and at the same time, an editor and photojournalist. As correspondent for Agence France Presse, collaborates with the newspaper El Wattan, L'Observateur, Le Monde Diplomatique and Libération. Cover, between 1990-91, Algerian political events, but also the refugee camps of the Polisario Front (liberation movement sub-Saharan Africa).
Back to the Basque Country, in Hendaye, working with newspapers Local Sud Ouest, Egin, Egunkaria, Gara, Le Journal, Berria ... let's not forget to travel, quite the opposite: Algeria, Morocco, Ireland, Mexico, Paraguay, Nicaragua, Peru, Afghanistan ...
With his partner, Antonio di Belloni photographer, uses his stories (the conflict in Ulster, Tuareg conflict, Chiapas Indians) to do personal work, and editing a book Regards d'Enfants ("Eyes of Children", which account, prologue, with the notable writer Edouard Manet), and exposing, the photographic work, in North Africa, Europe and Latin America.
In 2004, he founded the association Begiradak ("Perspectives"), gathering a score of photographers, both amateur and professionals.
